TODAY’S VERSE
The Son of Man did not come for other people to serve him. He came to serve others. The Son of Man came to give his life to save many people.
Matthew 20:28 ICB
DEVOTIONAL
Jesus has the power to do anything, yet when He came to earth, He served others. He listened to people, fed them, taught them and healed them. He even washed people’s dirty, stinky feet! Can you imagine? Jesus did many things to help people, but the biggest and best thing He did was to give up His life to take away the sins of the whole world! That’s how much Jesus loves us.
We can love and honour Jesus by loving and serving others like He did. Can you think of some ways that you could serve someone today? Here are a few ideas: offer to set the table for dinner, help your sibling tidy their room, draw a picture or write a thank you note to your teacher, donate some of your toys, give a portion of your pocket money to charity…or you could wash someone’s feet!
PRAYER
Dear Jesus, thank You for coming not to be served, but to serve others. Please help me to love and serve others like You do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
