There is a right time for everything. Everything on earth has its special season.

DEVOTIONAL

Have you ever waited for something special? Maybe you wanted to go a friend’s house, or to the petting zoo, or may even go on holiday. Whatever you’re thinking of, the waiting was probably really hard! But, what if that friend that you wanted to go play with was sick? That would be a terrible time to visit, right? What if you could have seen baby chicks if you’d only waited a week longer to go to the petting zoo? What if you couldn’t swim in the sea on your holiday because you went during winter instead of waiting for it to be warm? You might not understand why you have to wait, but you can trust that your parents have purpose in the waiting.

The Bible tells us there’s a right time for everything. God created every season for a purpose. Things are planted in the spring, grow through the summer and are harvested in the autumn. Then the land rests in winter until it’s time to start all over again. The times in our lives have a purpose too. Sometimes we’ll cry and sometimes we’ll laugh. Sometimes we’ll be sad and others we’ll dance with joy. Sometimes we’ll get to see our friends and others we’ll have to say goodbye. You won’t always understand what God is doing, but you can trust that He has a purpose for everything. His plans and timing are always perfect.

PRAYER

Dear God, thank You that Your plans are always good and Your timing is always perfect. Please help me to be patient and to trust You when I’m waiting. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
