Find a Specific Book in the Bible

Yesterday you listened to a song with all 66 books of the Bible and wrote down 3 of those books. Today you’re going to find those 3 books in your Bible. It’s actually very easy! Most Bibles have a table of contents at the front, although some versions may have it in the back. It’s split into 2 parts: The Old Testament and The New Testament (more on that another day). Next to each book there is a page number that tells you where to find that book in the Bible.

To earn a pompom today, go to the table of contents in your Bible, find 1 of the books that you wrote down, then turn to the correct page in the Bible. Repeat this with the other 2 books.

*Parents of young kids that can’t read yet - Ask your child to look at the first letter of one of the books you wrote down for them. Then help them skim through the table of contents to find a book that starts with the same letter. If there are multiple books with that letter, help them look at the shape of the second letter as well to match up with the correct book. You can point out the page number and turn to that page for them.
