TODAY’S VERSE

If anyone belongs to Christ, then he is made new. The old things have gone; everything is made new! All this is from God. Through Christ, God made peace between us and himself. And God gave us the work of bringing everyone into peace with him.

2 Corinthians 5:17-18

DEVOTIONAL

Just as you belong to your earthly family, when you decide to follow Jesus, you belong to His family too. Then something amazing happens! You are forgiven and made completely new; God puts His Spirit in you and gives you a new heart that wants to love and obey Him. That means when God looks at you, He doesn’t see your old self and all the wrong choices you’ve made - He sees who you are now in Jesus!

God does all of this because He wants everyone to be part of His family and live with Him forever. When you’re forgiven, God gives you the special job of telling others what He has done through Jesus, so they can be forgiven too. Who might God want you tell about Jesus? You can pray and ask God who you should share the Good News with.

PRAYER

Dear God, thank You for sending Jesus to make me new. Please help me to love and obey You, and to tell others what You have done. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
