TODAY’S BIBLE VERSE

Then Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth. He put Jesus’ body in a new tomb that he had cut in a wall of rock. He rolled a very large stone to block the entrance of the tomb. Then Joseph went away.

Matthew 27:59-60 ICB

DEVOTIONAL

After Jesus died on the cross, His friends felt sad and confused. How could this have happened? Wasn’t Jesus the promised Rescuer? They didn’t understand that this was all part of God’s plan. All they could do was wait and hope. Of course, we know what they didn’t…that Jesus wouldn’t stay in the tomb. But before we get to the joy of Sunday, it’s OK to feel a bit sad as we imagine a world without Jesus. It helps us to understand how very much we need Him!

PRAYER

Dear God, thank You that even when things seem scary or uncertain, You are still at work. Please help me to always remember that I need Jesus, and to put my hope and trust in Him. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
